In Mar. 2018, the US import volume of tires reached 19.02 million, decreasing by 8.9% over the previous year and increasing by 2.7% over the previous month. Among them, passenger tires were 11.83 million, falling by 10% YOY and increasing by 6.3% MOM. Tires of trucks and passenger vehicles were 3.44 million, with an increment of 0.4% over the previous year and 8.5% over the previous month.

In March, the US imported tires from China reached 3.78 million, dropping by 10.8% YOY and 10% MOM. Among them, passenger tires decreased by 35.5% YOY and 24.1% MOM. Tires of trucks and passenger vehicles surged by 145.5% over the previous year and went up by 11.3% compared to the previous month. Bicycle tires decreased by 2.5% YOY and 6.7% MOM.
In the first quarter, the US imported 56.60 million tires, falling by 3.7% YOY. Passenger tires decreased by 3.7% YOY and tires of trucks and passenger vehicles increased by 1.3% YOY. In the same period, the imported tires from China were 13.15 million, decreasing by 4.6% YOY. Passenger tires decreased by 24.9% YOY and tires of trucks and passengers vehicles increased by 38.1% YOY.
