Description
Screw compressors compress air due to the continuous rotating motion of its components. They can supply air at a constant delivery pressure with minimum fluctuation. There are two fitted rotors, which rotate in opposite directions to draw air between them. As the rotors approach each other, the air is compressed and moved towards the outlet. Screw compressors do not have any valves, which reduces the chances of malfunctioning and enables the compressor to work at high speeds with large volumes of air. For the purpose of study, the global screw compressors rental market has been segmented based on type, portability, stage, and end-use Based on type, the market has further been segmented as oil-injected screw compressors and oil-free screw compressors. Oil-injected screw compressors had the larger market size in 2017, mainly owing to the low maintenance cost. Based on portability, the market is segmented as stationary screw compressors and portable screw compressors. Portable screw compressors held the larger share of the market in 2017, mainly due to their portability. Based on stage, the market is segmented as single-stage screw compressors and multi-stage screw compressors. Multi-stage screw compressors held the larger share of the market due to the advanced technology in variable speed drive and turbo pressure. Based on end-use, the market is segmented as construction, mining, oil & gas, power, manufacturing and chemical. The construction segment dominated the market in 2017, due to the substantial growth in demand of infrastructure. Based on region, the market is segmented into North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, and rest of the world.
